  1. Urban Deli says:

Urban Deli falls under a few categories, and this is one of them.
It’s a grand renovation of a very old pizza restaurant that sat for many years. Its a compete make over in there; very funky, urban, hip and fabulous use of space.
Its a cool, and updated look for uptown and King street.

  2. Catherine says:

Canterbury Dental has been renovated to become one of the most beautiful and interesting buildings in uptown Saint John. Dr. Bill Rector has also managed to merge his dental practise with the arts community by showcasing various works by local artists as well as hosting open house events to showcase the works. The craftsmanship makes it evident that this was more a labour of love for Bill then just a renovation. Canterbury Dental shows the community how commerce can support arts and culture by doing more then just writing a cheque.

  3. Keith Brideau says:

My vote is also for Canterbury Dental. It is obvious when you go through the space that a great deal of thought and planning went into it’s re-development. Specifically, Dr. Rector’s team did a great job of maintaining the building’s character and charm, while upgrading the various cosmetics. This project is a prime example of the potential that exists within these heritage buildings.

  4. Tracy Folster says:

I agree with Catherine. The dental office is beautiful, the restoration work undertaken was extraordinary, and seeing the artwork they display makes a visit to the dentist another kind of experience altogether.

  5. Katie Bowden says:

Thandi’s new updated décor (and killer butter chicken) makes it hard to stay away.

    • Gina says:

I like Urban Deli – it’s great to have a business on King St., the heart of the Uptown with such a great storefront and savvy interior presence.

  6. Frances Menton says:

My nomination goes to Urban Deli which provides customers with an exceptional attention to detail and they also take into consideration niche markets by providing gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan food options. They have done a wonderful job restoring their building. You have the restaurant on their first level, prep area in the second floor and a one-of-a-kind gym on their third floor. Very innovative individuals!

  7. Mary says:

Urban Deli did amazing work with their renovations
